Empowering Young People Against HIV/AIDS in the US
Taking Action
CEG partnered with several local churches and organizations, including YLCO, and implemented the SISTA project (Sisters Informing Sisters about Topics on AIDS) throughout the Charleston community. During the SISTA Empowerment Sessions, 16 community facilitators from six churches/organizations were trained in the CDC curriculum and more than 75 adult females were directly impacted.
Part of the Program
Members of the SiHLE project (Sisters Informing Healing Learning Empowering) reaching over 60 young minority females. This program was developed to address the STI/HIV/AIDS needs of adolescent girls, especially those living in the South, due to the high prevalence of these diseases.
Passing on lessons
