More Information About this Project
Project Needs and Beneficiaries
Food insecurity is a big problem for most Zimbabweans, but it affects orphans even more. In the near past, the current government did not allow the import or distribution of food to Zimbabweans, while at the same time curtailing the provision of fertilizers for many years, effectively ruining crops and the supply of food. 400 orphan families will benefit from this project.
Activities
Each orphan family will receive nutritious food, giving them strength to be trained so they can engage in a viable sustainable livelihood activity - growing food and raising animals to replace food distribution with sustainable livelihood.

Why this Project is Important
Potential Long Term Impact
400 children and adults receive food and life-saving skills. This, in turn, will arrest the vicious cycle of hunger and food distribution year after year.

ATMIT arrives in Zimbabwe

While the beneficiaries find the food delicious (it really is!), they are also eating something healthy - oats, milk, sugar, vitamins, and minerals. As they gain strength, they are able to tend to their personal garden or if they don't have one, they can attend trainings on how to grow their own food or raise their own animals. So far, the project is a success and we thank you for your part in it.
Please don't forget to tell others about this important project. These folks really do want to be self-reliant and sufficient, so this hands up is a gift to them, enabling them to help themselves.
