Mission

The mission of the American Foundation for Children with AIDS is to improve the lives of children and youth struggling with the impact of the HIV/AIDS pandemic. We provide cost effective relief, services, medical and social support, education and advocacy to help these victims achieve their full life potential.

We provide life-saving medicine, food, humanitarian aid, and medical equipment to our partners, as requested: • St. Joseph’s Home of Hope -Voi, Kenya • St. Mary’s Mission Hospital - Nairobi, Kenya • St. Mary’s Mission Hospital - Elementita, Kenya • St. Theresa’s Home of Hope – Elementita, Kenya • Mombasa Community Outreach Program, Mombasa, Kenya • Mulago Hospital PIDC - Kampala, Uganda • ZOE - Bulawayo, Zimbabwe • Church of the Ascension Clinic – Bulawayo, Zimbabwe

Personnel Overview

Tanya Weaver - Executive Director
Prior to joining AFCA in 2005, Tanya worked in Afghanistan as a Project Supervisor and later as Interim Country Director for Shelter for Life. Previously, Tanya worked with Habitat for Humanity in Central Asia and Eastern Europe.

Jean Webster - National Director
Jean has been the National Director of Zimbabwe's Orphans Through Extended Hands since 1993. A nurse by training, she founded ZOE after seeing the plight of orphaned children in Zimbabwe. From England originally, she calls Zimbabwe home.
