Mission

The organization seeks to improve the quality of life of women and their families living in the rural areas of western Maharashtra. Our primary objective is to empower rural women and fight injustices based on gender, caste and class. Our programs are designed to improve our clients' quality of life by promoting education, health, property rights, leadership and technology.

Programs

Mann Vikas provides girls education, HIV/AIDS health education, student scholarships, vocational skills training and life insurance information, while also offering commerce and marketing classes.

Rekha Kulkarni - Managing Director, Mann Deshi Foundation
Rekha has been with Mann Deshi Foundation since 1999. Before working here she was a librarian for the Rotary Club. Outside of work, Rekha is skilled in both arts and sports. She has taken courses in rangoli and mehendi and played for her university track team.

Vanita Shinde - Chief Administrative Officer, Manndeshi Foundation
Ms. Shinde joined Mann Deshi in July of 2006, coming with a background in business and commerce and bilingual translation experience in English and Marathi. In addition her extensive experience in office management and communication skills has positioned her to be the point of contact person to the Founder and President, Chetna Gala Sinha.
