In preparation for the school year, young village girls receive from NEEED pencils, paper, chalk boards and chalk, a T-shirt and skirt, simple backpack, and a lantern to study by at night.

From the initial support which enables them to enter school, the girls' parents raise and sell their daughters' lambs each year to enable them to continue their studies through 10 years of school.

Bibata Ouedraogo at home in the village of Bissegaye with her grandmother and her lamb which her parents will care for and sell in order to pay for next year’s school expenses. Bibata is doing extremely well in school. She and her family are very grateful for the support of GlobalGiving donors whose initial gift of school materials and a lamb have enabled her to begin her education. The yearly sale of a lamb and purchase of a new one will pay for Bibata’s school expenses through secondary school.
