More Information About this Project

Project Needs and Beneficiaries

You don’t study well on an empty stomach, however many children in Wakiso do come to school on just a glass of water and lunch boxes are not heard off. Providing kids with meals dramatically improves their academic performance. Firewood is the most commonly used source of energy for cooking but this practice leads to serious deforestation. Yearly Uganda loses 2% of its forests. This project will affect 170 children, their families and the environment.

Activities

We will build a simple kitchen structure with at its heart a firewood saving stove to cook the pupils’ meals. The children will as change agents promote similar wood saving stoves in their families and community.
