Latest Update from the Field
Back from Nicaragua
By Susan Dix Lyons - Founder and Chair, August 10, 2009 12:18 PM
Just got back from a trip to Nicaragua a week ago. At this stage we're waiting for our Nicaraguan architect to complete his final drawings so we can put the work for the next stages out to bid. Things are looking good, but we need your support more than ever!
I'm posting a photo of some friends from the village of Empalme de Boaco. The family featured lives in the home in the background – one bed for 8 people and a hammock for the baby, who was sleeping inside. Most of the children sleep on the dirt floor, which, in rainy season (now!) seeps with water. You can imagine the health issues this brings up.
Thanks, as always, for your invaluable support!
Hasta pronto,
Susan
