More Information About this Project

Project Needs and Beneficiaries

By the end of 2008, 33.4 million Mexicans had abandoned school before finishing 9th grade according to Mexico’s Secretary of Public Education. Children from low-income working families have the highest risks of malnutrition, school dropout, and continued poverty. This project guarantees quality education as well as essential services for 455 at-risk children in the Mexico City Metro Area to continue in school, grow healthy, and be cared for while their parents work.

Activities

Advance the quality of life of 455 at-risk children by providing them quality early education, child care, breakfast, school supplies, psychological help for children with learning disabilities and parenting classes for their mothers and fathers.

Why this Project is Important

Potential Long Term Impact

The preschoolers will achieve an age-appropriate physical, intellectual and emotional development to successfully advance in their education, despite of their family’s lack of resources. Parents will support them as effective co-educators at home.

Project Message

Thanks to this parenting school, I have a better attitude to face new challenges; and in this school my children are safer, confident, and mainly happier which gives me huge strength to improve.
- María Luisa Morales Flores, Benefitted Mother
