More Information About this Project
Project Needs and Beneficiaries
Before Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, many parishes in New Orleans were old, decrepit and sadly out-of-date as it related to schools, community programs, literacy of youth and adults, and computer knowledge. To combat this and rejuvenate the community, RI is building a Community Information Resource Center (CIRC) aimed at providing New Orleans communities with free access to the Internet, along with training to develop computer and technology skills - essential for the rehabiliation of the city.
Activities
RI's goals for the center are to encourage technoloy access & utilization by populations of the city that are underserved. By providing these services, the CIRC will speed up the recovery of the region and enhance beneficiaries' quality of life.
