More Information About this Project
Project Needs and Beneficiaries
The New Orleans Public School District was one of the lowest performing in the country. Hurricane Katrina destroyed the city of institutions and infrastructure. What was salvaged from the wreckage of the storm is inappropriate in the new system. O. Perry Walker needs funds to renovate, replace antiquated books, and make changes necessary in the new educational environment allowing residents and their children to return home and return to school.
Activities
Funds raised to support O. Perry Walker High School fund renovations and purchase educational materials, electronic and presentation equipment, computers, books, and periodicals. These items are necessary for youth returning to school in New Orleans.
