More Information About this Project
Project Needs and Beneficiaries
19 million children in Pakistan cannot afford to go to schools, out of which 10.5 million are compelled to work on petty jobs to augment family income. These working children, because of their total lack of any education are exploited, maltreated and under paid by their employers. Zindagi Trust through its Project “I am paid to learn” strives to afford an opportunity to more than 2800 working children to be able to attend schools at their doorsteps for which they get paid daily stipend.
Activities
Nearly 2800 working children attend ZT non-formal schools for a 3 year period enabling them to acquire primary education. The curriculum is designed to cultivate initiative, discipline and confidence to enable the children to face challenges of life.
