Personnel Overview

Aleta Margolis - Executive Director
Aleta is a former professor of education at American University, specializing in authentic assessment, science and math, and curriculum reform. As a public school teacher, Aleta taught in both elementary and middle schools and designed and ran alternative educational programs. She graduated from Brown University and received her M.S. in Education and Social Policy at Northwestern University.

Kate Keplinger - Deputy Director
Kate Keplinger is a DC certified teacher and holds an M.A. in Teaching degree from American University. Kate has worked with thousands of teachers and students, created training programs for local community organizations, and presented at national education conferences. She also functions as the executive director’s partner in the organization’s growth and management.
