More Information About this Project
Project Needs and Beneficiaries
Millions of dollars and creative hours have been invested over the past few years in developing online resources for Africa. Unfortunately, most of Africa doesn’t know that yet, and doesn’t have many easy ways of finding out. Presented in a simple, entertaining format, Internet4Change Magazine is a free printed publication that informs and educates the ordinary Ugandan consumer about the world wide web of development resources now available that are relevant to local community needs.
Activities
4 issues will be produced in Year One. 28,000 free copies will be distributed as newspaper inserts, at webcafes & at rural connectivity points. Advertiser support will be sought for continued growth. A searchable online archive system will be built.
Funding Information
This project has been retired and is no longer accepting donations.
Additional Documentation
This project has provided additional documentation in a Microsoft Word file (projdoc.doc).

Why this Project is Important
Potential Long Term Impact
Increased awareness and understanding of the online world will increase local demand for connectivity, while saving consumer time & money spent surfing. Ugandans will overcome technology fears by learning how to connect with each other and the world.
Project Message
I shared some of the concepts I’d learned at Internet4Change in my university course on e-commerce, and even the professor was very impressed. This is the kind of information Uganda really needs!
