Mission

.To establish an infrastructure of services for infant and preschool children with intellectual disability living in poverty and training their mothers to become our co workers thus linking poverty, disability and women’s empowerment.

Programs

Awareness through puppet theatre; Disability identification surveys, Training of mothers for income generation and marketing products made .Training community women for survey work ; Inclusive Preschool for disabled and non disabled ,Rehabilitation and therapeutic services.; Advocacy for inclusive education with local government aided schools . An online communication Network on mental handicap .Organizing workshops for different levels of community needs

Shan Kumari Bhatia - Consultant
Bhatia has an M.B.B.S and an M.D She is a Pediatrician with experience of over 30 years in developmental pediatrics both in India and in the U.K and the Middle East. She was on the staff of a local hospital but now runs her own general clinic apart from consultancy services for Samadhan.

Dr. Reena Bhattacharya - Director, Dakshinpuri Center
An MSc in Psychology and a short term course on Family therapy enabled her to work for two and half years as psychologist in a special education school and ten years in the Child Guidance Center in The Jamia Milia University. She has also been on the faculty of the Rehabilitation Council of India, the National Institute for Mental Handicap and the Okhla TeacherTraining Institute

Pramila Balasundaram - Founder-Executive Director
Founded Samadhan motivated by a niece with Downs Syndrome. A postgraduate in English Literature and Semantics, a brief "hands on" training in Germany helped her to identify lacunae in services in India, particularly for the poor. She has made about 15 presentations in international conferences, authored many articles and received an Award of Recognition from the Inclusion International.
