Mission

DCBF is a US 501 c3 nonprofit charitable supporting organization and a Brazilian NGO dedicated to aiding street children and impoverished youth in Brazil. We work in partnership with local organizations and NGO's to provide: education, moral and social development, humanitarian relief, and the offering of opportunities where there were none before.

Luta Pela Paz - Fight for Peace Sports Club (with NGO Viva Rio); Nós do Cinema - We in Cinema; Pequeno Tigre Circus School (with Porto da Pedra Escola do Samba); Crescer e Viver (Grow Up and Live); Final Feliz - Happy Ending; Instituto de Ecocidadania Juriti - IEJ-Meio ambiente e Cidadania (Institute of Eco-Citizenship - Environment and Citizenship); Circo Baixada; and many more.

Personnel Overview

Valdineia de Oliveira Franca De Souza - Coordinator of the cultural project Roda Viva
Valdineia teaches a course of psychology in the University Estácio de Sá; She became the community educator in 1992 and remained until 2004; and today is the coordinator of the cultural center and has been since 2005.

Alexandre de Salles - Project Coordenator
Alexandre is the counselor for children and youth rights in the civil society for the association of Roda Viva. Studying for a doctorate in public politics, Alexander is a philosopher, and a teacher of human sciences\humanities, with a lot of experience working with communities afflicted by poverty, and movements to modernize and repair the favelas.
