Environmental Regulatory Support

By Jaime Whitlock - PR & Communications Manager, December 16, 2008 05:52 PM

We have recently worked with the US Environmental Protection Agency on a joint demonstration project to develop a direct-injection Bajaj auto-rickshaw in Pune, India. Endorsement from groups with international reputations like the US EPA provides great momentum and enhances our global standing as a company that delivers. Non-governmental entities such as the Clean Air Initiative for Asian Cities (CAI-ASIA) and the Manila Observatory are also extremely supportive of our efforts, and add legitimacy from the scientific and advisory board perspective. CAI-ASIA endorsed our technology formally in 2006, and is playing a key role in widespread awareness-raising activities for both the Philippines and beyond. Envirofit has also been publicly endorsed by the Philippine Office of the President -- Public Transport Affairs (PTAO). Working with CAI Asia, we are garnering local and national (Philippine) support from agencies such as the DOTC, DENR and EMB to permit a phased implementation of stricter emissions standards in the cities most impacted by two-stroke engine pollution.

Our existing endorsements include the US Environmental Protection Agency (US EPA), the Philippine Department of Transport and Communications, the Department of Energy and Natural Resources, the Office of Public Transport Affairs and the Philippine League of Cities (made up of Mayors of all the major cities in the Philippines). We have also received endorsement from the Philippine Office of the President and the President herself (we have had two private audiences with the President of the Philippines, Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, to demonstrate our technology -- see pictures).
