Project Needs and Beneficiaries
Israel has not yet realized the vast untapped potential of renewable energy (RE) community entrepreneurship. Over 95% of the energy used in the country depends on imported fossil fuels. Incentives for RE installations are very few. Communities who want to implement RE technologies encounter many barriers. There is an urgent need to prove that it is possible and practical to implement RE technologies on the community level.
Activities
AIES will install a medium-size wind turbine and PV installations. It will study, document and monitor all stages of development and develop proposed solutions for mainstreaming these types of projects while monitoring the benefits of the installatio
