More Information About this Project
Project Needs and Beneficiaries
In Gbendembu Ngowahun chiefdom, school enrollment is high but a lot of children drop out of school very early mainly due to the inability of parents to meet school needs and at the same time meet basic family welfare need. Girls, as young as 14, can become pregnant and drop out. These children end up helping on the farms. For them the future is bleak. This project will affect about 150 less privileged children and drop-outs and their parents/guardians living in Gbendembu Ngowahun Chiefdom.

Why this Project is Important
Potential Long Term Impact
In the long-term, all children of school-going age in Gbendembu Ngowahun chiefdom attend school and the drop-out rate is eliminated. From the income they generate, parents can take care of their family needs and keep their children at school.
Project Message
“Our parents still do not know that an educated individual can help ease the work on the farm and make life worth living by far. I am happy that this project by GEKO-SL is making this clear to them.”
