Mission
The Central American Women’s Fund is the first foundation, located in the region, dedicated to raising funds to support the initiatives of women’s organizations – particularly young women’s organizations – that promote and defend the human rights of Central American women. We envision a Central America without poverty or violence, with social and economic justice, and with forms of democracy that enable women and men to participate equally at all levels of society.
Programs
The Central American Women’s Fund supports collective and group work. They award grants to women’s groups working on a broad range of issues related to women’s rights in Central America, such as the ability to exercise their sexual and reproductive rights, freedom from gender-violence, greater political participation, increased access to non-sexist education and health care, and greater economic autonomy.
