Tiwai Island Wildlife Sanctuary - EFA is the principal managing partner of Sierra Leone's only community Based Eco-Tourism Project Alternative Energy Programme - Includes specialists and training modules in solar electricity and solar hot water. Environmental Governance - Hosts the secretariat for ENFORAC (Sierra Leone) and GAWA (West Africa)

Personnel Overview

Simon Willans - Programme Coordinator
Simon spent seven years working in the automotive industry as a Product Engineer and has spent the last two years working with the Environmental Foundation for Africa in Sierra Leone, leading their Alternative energy programme. His primary area of focus is PV electricity.

Chris Playford - Solar Water Heating Instuctor
Chris has 34 years experience working in the plumbing and heating industry. He has 15 years experience working in the design, development and installation of solar water heating systems, both in the UK and West Africa. In more recent years he has worked as Senior lecturer at Gambia Technical Training Institute, where he developed and introduced solar water heating courses into the plumbing diploma

Mohammed Kamara - Department Head: Plumbing and Mechanical Services
Mr. Kamara has been the Department head at GTI for over four years and has ten years of experience in the plumbing trade. He is also a lecturer in the plumbing programme, teaching the diploma level students.
