Weighing Baby

Weighing Baby
A newborn is weighed at a CHI/AIL clinic in Afghanistan. These clinics are saving the lives of mothers and babies by giving them a clean, safe place to deliver and medical staff to attend. Messages to educate mothers about health are posted around each clinic. The message pictured here reminds mothers of the importance of hand washing in order to protect the health of their babies. Many women in Afghanistan are illiterate so pictures are used to communicate important health messages.
