To make real the idea of society consisting of free and equal citizens who are able to come together & solve the problems that affect them in their particular contexts through - Creation of platforms for people to come together & participate in development processes; Equipping village groups & leaders with skills & resources to respond to their own needs; &, Ensuring that members of village communities are able to interact with, & access benefits from government & non-government agencies.
Programs
Seva Mandir works through a triangular strategy based on strengthening sustainable livelihoods, building people’s capabilities, and empowering village institutions. Seva Mandir’s work spans village institutions, natural resource management, income-generation activities, health, education, women’s empowerment, and child development. At the village level, democratic village institutions are formed, which are responsible for managing all aspects of local development. (469)

Personnel Overview
Mohd. Yakub Khan - Incharge- GVK Programme
Yakub joined Seva Mandir in 1993 after completing his Master’s in Social Work from Rajasthan University. He was been associated with idea of GVK since its inception. He has worked extensively on training of GVK village institutions, and also on developing management Systems for GVK.
Gulab Noor Khan - Trainer- GVK Programme
Gulab has a degree in Commerce, and has been associated with the GVK programme since last 3 years. Prior to this he has worked directly with rural communities for around 10 years in various capacities.
