2009 News

By Moira Rubio - Executive Director, October 05, 2009 12:38 PM

In 2009 ph15 workshops teachers are all graduated from the 3 year programme. We organized 7 exhibitions (4 in Argentina and 3 abroad). Students and teachers traveled to different provinces and communities in Argentina to give photo workshops. 3 of them did the same in Germany and UK. Most of the graduated students started working as professional photographers or teachers in other workshops.

We made alliances with different NGOs to develop activities such as: radio, theatre, debated in subjects such as civil rights, nutrition, violence, health and ecology.
The students visited 5 different art exhibitions in Buenos Aires.

2008 Main Achievements

By MOira Rubio - Director, November 07, 2008 06:09 PM

Due to year´s coming to an end, we wanted to share our main accomplishments, that were possible to all the donatios received:

1. Hold 10 photography exhibitions throughout Buenos Aires and Argentina, as well as abroad in Las Vegas, Cabo Polonio in Uraguay and San Pablo in Brazil.
2. Open new photography workshops: one more in the “Hidden City” (Ciudad Oculta) and another in Lugano.
3. Visit six photography exhibitions with all the students in Buenos Aires.
4. Carry out three photography fieldtrips for the students within Buenos Aires and the outskirts of the city.
5. Travel with the students of ph15 to the cities of Santa Fe, Tucumán, Jujuy, Bariloche y Córdoba, to teach other underprivilaged children pinhole photography.

Finally, and most importantly, to continue providing classes in artistic expression and photographic technique for more than 50 children between the ages of 10 and 20 in Ciudad Oculta, Boulogne y Lugano. Through these classes we are able to give these children a new way of communicating with the outside world, a world from which they are usually excluded.

ph15 new photo exhibiion in Buenos Aires

By Moira Rubio - Director, June 13, 2007 05:22 PM

Invitation
The show "Ciudad Oculta desde Adentro"/ "Inside the Hidden City" was opened on June 7th with great success. All the students were very excited to see their work and their mates hanged in such a prestigous space. The opening was shared by all their friends and relatives who recognized themselves in the photographs.

The show was divided in different themes (classics, interiors, passages, games and celebrations, the night, and maternity).

The donations that ph15 obtained through Global Giving were used to print all the night photos. A section that had a lot of success between the visitors who admired the beauty of the neighborhood lights captured by the kids by night.
