More Information About this Project
Project Needs and Beneficiaries
The fight against elder abuse has to tackle the value system from early childhood. Traditional India's joint family took care of the elderly, now isolated and left to fend for themselves in an un-friendly family environment. Children have to imbibe values of care of parents. Children, parents and society are the beneficiaries in the long term. Schools are happy to celebrate this event annually. In fact SURAKSHA BANDHAN has potential to be promoted as a World Event on Elders Day Ocotber 1.
Activities
Dignity Foundation will print 500,000 wrist band with a self adhesive gum. The bands will be distributed by retiree members of Dignity Foundation to schools in 20 cities of India. Schools will charge One Rupee per band from each child.
