More Information About this Project

Project Needs and Beneficiaries

The project addreses several issues that permanently affect Monteagudo, an isolated community in Tucumán, Argentina. Firstly, it will contribute to return an ancestral art culture back to the region. Secondly, it will empower women to work and become active and independent. And lastly, once the products are able to be sold, the project will eventually help these families to confront with a growing poverty in the region.

Activities

Once a week, 20 women will get together with a teacher and learn how to knit & weave. Every month a new technique will be learned. Once they are able to dominate the different techniques, a business teacher will help them formulate a business plan
