More Information About this Project
Project Needs and Beneficiaries
Less than 60% of students of color in Washington State graduate from high school on-time. Students who drop out face a bleak future: reduced earnings, limited employment prospects and higher reliance on public assistance. Early interventions like TechStart provide access to educational opportunities and technology tools and help children develop knowledge, confidence and life skills increase graduation rates. This project will fund 2 classes serving up to 24 students in grades 3-8 for one year.
Activities
TechStart uses an engaging project-based learning curriculum that incorporates Washington State Grade Level Expectations in Science, Math and Writing to emphasizes academic mastery of these core subjects using technology as an educational tool.

Project Message
Getting every child to graduate high school with a meaningful diploma in their hands is one of the biggest challenges our country faces.
