Project Needs and Beneficiaries
Less than 5% of the population of Togo have access to computers or the Internat (>75% in the USA ), with even worse stats for children in rural areas. This growing disparity (or digital divide) is severly disadvantaging a whole generation of children growing up in rural Africa. This project is intended to provide computing skills to 1000's of children in rural Togo and helps connect these children to the world.
Activities
The initial phase will equip, install and operate a "Cyber Cafe" in the rural village of Vo Pedakondji in Togo, Western Africa. Working with local schools the facility will teach basic computing schools to over 1000 children in the region.
