More Information About this Project
Project Needs and Beneficiaries
The village of Al Aqabah, a Palestinian Village in Area C of the West Bank, dreams of becoming a hub for learning. Their kindergarten and school attracts students from miles around. They want their library and children’s discovery center to do the same. They own their land without question and have filed a master land use plan w the Israeli authorities. Building permits have been unattainable so far – and there’s lots of good reason why retroactive permits should be granted.
Activities
Named for the 12th century Islamic philosopher from Spain who argued rationalism over fundamentalism, this remarkable library needs books, computers, and stipend to hire the librarian.
