More Information About this Project

Project Needs and Beneficiaries

Imagine collecting water cup by cup from a seepage point in a dry riverbed. Sadly, for the 565 people of Asgam, this is reality. Traditional water sources are vanishing as natural forests & vegetation cover disappears, leading to accelerated soil erosion & decreased water infiltration rates to underground aquifers. They must share the available water sources with neighboring villages, resulting in fighting between village men & women who are desperate to provide water for their families

Activities

This project will consist of constructing a borehole with a hand pump and drainage system, and individual household pit latrines.
