Mission

RAHI is a non-profit support center for adult women survivors of incest and childhood sexual abuse. RAHI's mission is to help women survivors come into recovery and provide them with the best therapeutic and support services in the country.The only center of its kind in India, RAHI's primary focus is to help survivors deal with the long-term impact of abuse. It also conducts research and uses innovative communication to mainstream the issue.

Programs

Education & Training: Lectures and skill building workshops for prevention and intervention. These include The Girl Next Door, a peer education project for college students.Research & Communication: Documenting women's experiences of incest.Training on Psychological Trauma: Impact & Treatment with Dr Bessel Van Der Kolk, M.D.

Personnel Overview

Anuja Gupta - Executive Director
Anuja Gupta is the founder of RAHI and a trainer, educator and counselor in the area of incest/child sexual abuse. She does individual and group work with survivors. She also lectures and trains at universities, NGOs and other forums. Her experience includes work on sexuality and HIV/AIDS. She is past Fellow of the MacArthur Foundation and the current recipient of the Ashoka Fellowship.

Ashwini Ailawadi - Director, Communications
Ashwini Ailawadi is responsible for developing the Center’s communication strategy and conceptualising its programs and services. He is also a trainer and is involved in building volunteer networks and student peer education groups. He has a background in journalism.
